Cervical Health Awareness Month

The office of the src women’s commission as part of its commitment in tackling some issues that are pertinent amongst female students organized a free cervical cancer screening on the 26th of February,2022 at the Royal parade grounds with over 200 students present to be screened. The free screening was in alignment with the Commission’s mandate to champion the welfare of students and as well contribute to the attainment of SDG GOAL 3 and as well play a role in the reduction and elimination of cervical cancer mortality which affects the screened age group.

Medical expects from the KNUST hospital were 10 in number and were very ethical and flexible with the whole process with lots of smiles being left on the faces of the ladies present. The process was however interrupted by rain and more than 30 female student’s details were taken and directed to visit the Preventive Unit at the school’s hospital for the screening.
