We are delighted to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive health screening and blood donation exercise held last Saturday. This event was organized by the SRC in collaboration with KNUST Hospital, the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, and the Municipal Health Directorate. Our primary goal was to promote the health and well-being of our student community by providing essential health services right here on campus.

The health screening included a variety of tests and services to ensure a thorough health check for all participants. These services were:

- Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) Test: Checking blood sugar levels to screen for diabetes.
- Hepatitis B Screening and Vaccination: Offering tests and vaccinations to protect against Hepatitis B.
- HIV & Syphilis Tests: Conducting essential screenings to promote sexual health.
- Malaria Test: Testing for malaria to ensure early detection and treatment.
- Eye Screening: Assessing vision and eye health.
- Dental Screening: Examining oral health for potential issues.
- Blood Grouping: Determining blood groups for medical records and emergencies.
- Blood Donation: Encouraging students to donate blood, contributing to lifesaving efforts.

Event Highlights

The event saw a remarkable turnout, with many students taking the opportunity to get their health checked and to donate blood. The collaborative efforts of healthcare professionals, volunteers, and organizers ensured that each student received the best possible care.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the event was the blood donation drive. Numerous students generously donated blood, demonstrating a strong sense of community and compassion. Their contributions will undoubtedly save many lives and help those in need.
